Edward S. Gutt Obituary

Edward S. Gutt, 65, of Bricktown, passed away at his residence on Thursday April 13, 2023. Born and raised in Bayonne, NJ, he is a former resident of Maplewood before moving to Brick with his wife in 1993.

Edward graduated with academic excellence from the New Jersey Institute of Technology- achieving his BS in Industrial Engineering and MS in Engineering Management. He later returned to NJIT as an adjunct professor part-time. He had a successful career working for Revlon for 25 years, and the Ocean County security department for 10 years.

Edward accomplished an early retirement at 60 years old to pursue his diverse interests. He was an intelligent man of many talents including reading, writing, math, and photography. He was passionate about learning and sharing his knowledge- he did so by participating in his community bible study and computer club. He also loved travelling the world, music, chess, poetry, and most of all; time spent with his beloved family and friends.

Edward is predeceased by his mother and father, Wanda and Stanley Gutt, his sister Teresa and brother Stanley. He is survived by his devoted wife Maria Gutt, his adored daughters Samantha Roberts and Katherine Gutt, and son-in-law Andrew Roberts.

A viewing will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Rt. 88 Brick, on Wednesday, April 19 from 3 –7 pm. A funeral mass will be at St. Dominic's R.C Church, Old Squan Road, Brick, on Thursday, April 20 at10 am. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07306.
