The memory of Johnnie J. File Sr. (Bridgeton, New Jersey), who passed away on May 1, 2025 at the age of 79, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lola Fleming and John Robert File; his wife Hattie B. File (Jones); his sons, James File, Carl File, Sr., Samuel File, Sr. and Nathan File; his brothers, Isiah Fleming, Mitchell Fleming, Ignatius Fleming and LeRufus Fleming (Randolph Fleming); his grandson Raquan Kersey; and also, Mamie and Leroy Patterson.
He is survived by: his daughter Carolyn Blakely (Michael) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Taheem Rasheed (Denise) of Bridgeton, NJ, Johnny File Jr. (Cheryl) of Moreno Valley, CA, Jerome File (Janet) of Millville, NJ and Michael File (Billie Joe) of Fairton, NJ.; his siblings, Lacy Anderson of Waynesboro, GA, Rush and Carl Fleming of Waynesboro; his uncles, William "Boot" Lovett and John Lovett of Bridgeton, NJ; and his sons, Paul Gilson, Donald Barnes and Georgy Barnes. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the John Wesley United Methodist Church (90 Matthew Brown Way, Bridgeton, NJ 08302). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
