He was predeceased by: his parents, Bradley T. Byrd and Anna Mae Byrd; his siblings, Yvonne E. Goldsborough (Moore), Malinda A. Byrd and Wayne S. Byrd; his brother-in-law Richard G. Goldsborough Sr.; and his nephew Richard G. Goldsborough, Jr..

He is survived by: his brothers, Milton B. Byrd, Robert L. Byrd and Kenneth A. Byrd; his aunts, Phyllis Holden of Bridgeton and Marie Byrd; his sister Carolyn Hadley of Vineland; his nieces, Teresa L. Goldsborough of Bridgeton and Valerie D. Goldsborough of North Carolina; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ja Toya T. Conaway, Brittany L. Goldsborough, Brandon L. Goldsborough, ShayVonne E. Hoaney and Taleena L. Goldsborough. He is also survived by great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He departed this life at Inspira Hospital in Vineland, New Jersey on February 8, 2021 due to heart failure that was aggravated by COVID-19.
