He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Doherty, Sr. and Kathryn Haney (late James); and his sister Kathy Wilgus (late Bob). He is survived by: his wife Anna C. Doherty; his sons, James J. Doherty (Linda) and Brian Doherty (Kate); his grandchildren, Gabryelle Ziegler (Ryan), Katelyn Doherty, Molly Doherty, Maggie Doherty, Mitch Doherty and Amanda Doherty; his great grandchild Ezra; his sisters, Evelyn Cullen (Patrick) and Noreen Cattel; and his brother-in-law Anthony Dogostino (Maryann).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Mary's R. C. Church (426 Monmouth St, Gloucester City, NJ 08030). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
