He was predeceased by : his parents, Antonio Mattera and Maria DiOrio Mattera; and his siblings, Giuseppina Mattera, Dolorinda Matarese, Vincenza Mattera, Giovanna Mattera (Nina) and Aniello Mattera.

He is survived by : his wife Elaine Niper; and his daughters, Lisa Barone (John) of Columbus, NJ, Christina Mattera-Black (Kevin) of Surf City, NJ and Amy Butler (Steve) of Burlington, NJ..
