She was predeceased by: her parents, William Shipp and Irene Rankin Shipp; and her husband Reverend Joseph H. Thompson of Gastonia, NC.. She is survived by: her children, Joseph Thompson, Jr. (Katrina), Reginald Thompson (Rita), Jacquline Simms, Victor Thompson and Joyce Thompson. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
