Eleanor M. Ott, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on July 23, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Eleanor was the last surviving child of the late William John and Bridget Breslin.
Eleanor's life was enriched by her beloved family. She was the cherished wife of the late Walter Ott, and a loving mother to her daughters, Mary Linder and Patricia Diienno-Croce (Raymond). She was a doting grandmother to Dominic Diienno (Christine), Jessica Linder, Matthew Linder, and the late Katherine Linder. Her joy was further multiplied by her great-grandchildren, Dorian and Cameron Diienno as well as her step grandchildren Raymond (Bevin) and Monica Croce along with their children Damien, Corson and Giavanna. Eleanor's love extended to many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends who will forever remember her warmth and kindness.
In her early years, Eleanor's family moved back to Ireland, where she was raised on a farm, instilling in her a profound appreciation for life's simple pleasures. As a young woman in her twenties, Eleanor returned to the United States, taking residence with her uncle Dennis in Binghamton, New York. There, she served with dedication at a local rectory, beginning a lifelong commitment to her faith and community. Eventually, Eleanor made her way back to Philadelphia, where she was embraced by her beloved cousin Mary Rosenbaum's family and embarked on a fulfilling career with Tastykake, and later, with Manor Care in Bucks County, where she worked in the memory care unit for many years.
An avid reader, Eleanor found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. Her hands were rarely still, as she delighted in the art of knitting, creating countless treasures for those she loved. As a devout Catholic, Eleanor's faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and providing comfort throughout her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, January 25th from 10-10:45 AM at the Catholic Church of St. Mary, 2001 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08003. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday at the church. Interment Jesus Bread of Life Cemetery, Mt. Laurel, NJ, 08054.
