He was predeceased by: his mother Ilse. He is survived by: his wife Dale (née Lewis); his children, Bryn (Sharon), Shane (Marieannette) and Kirsten; his grandchildren, Drew and Alyssa; and his brother Helm (Mary Lou). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
