“We will all miss Joe's presence, his smile, and his kind words. His passing is a shock that will take a while to get over. We will remember Joe as a highly intelligent person with diversified interests and dedicated to his family. He was very supportive and always had a kind word. His strong religious beliefs that got him through life's difficult times yet that was never forced on others. I knew him through many years taking Tai Chi class. He will be missed.”

Pamela Somers wrote a sympathy message

“Our tai chi classes will not be the same without Joe. He was one of the most kind, positive, and cheerful people I have ever met. As Bea said, his smile was infectious. Just recently he was asked by Cassie(our teacher) to critique several of us doing the tai chi 24 form. Of course, he was careful not to say anything negative, instead he said to try to smile more and look like you are enjoying your practice. It was the best advice we could have had. My heart goes out to his family. Pam Somers”
