She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Jane Rathyen (Jean) and Frederick Rathyen Sr.; her husband Peter William Messler; and her brother Fred Rathyen Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Ann Messler, Robert Messler and Joy Messler-Greenhill (Dave); and her grandchildren, Peter Messler (Fabiana), Stephanie Greenhill, Sam Messler, Brandon Laraway, Kaitlyn Greenhill and Ava Messler.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Osceola Presbyterian Church (1689 Raritan Rd, Clark, NJ 07066). A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Graceland Memorial Park (1900 Galloping Hill Rd, Kenilworth, NJ 07033).
