He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Geraldine McDermott; his parents, John McDermott and Elizabeth McDermott; his granddaughter Melanie Pietzmeier; his daughters, Deborah McDermott and Susan McCarty (Stephen); and his granddaughter Amanda McCarty. He was also cherished by five siblings.
