He was predeceased by: his wife Ana Delia Castro; his daughter Sonia Castro; and his grandchild Kiara T. Argueyes. He is survived by: his children, Aida Castro and Anibal Castro, Jr. (Nancy); his grandsons, Jonathan Otero, Damian Garzon, Justin Castro and Dennis Morales, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Jaelee, Kaylee, Damian, Jr. and Camila Castro; and his siblings, Angel Luis, Carmen, Ester, Miguel Angel, Nilda, Ismael, Alfredo, Francisco and Juan Martin Castro.
