He is survived by: his wife Susan Buttel of Clifton; his children, Savannah Buttel and Michael Buttel; his parents, George Buttel (Carol Ann) of Hardyston and Victoria of Arizona; and his siblings, Christine Colligan of Clifton, Daniel Buttel of Jefferson, Christopher Buttel of Sparta, Brianna Hagemann of Wantage and Allie Buttel of Hardyston.
