With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wanda Hiestand (Clifton, New Jersey), born in Granite City, Illinois, who passed away on December 9, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parent Kazmer Kowalewich (Kazimir); her son Gregory Kazmer Hiestand; her mother Stella Soboleski Kowalewich; and her brothers, Walter and Stanley Kowalewich.
She is survived by : her husband Dale Hiestand; her daughter Susan Lee Hiestand; her sister Arlene Haldeman (Ronnie O'Day); her grandchildren, Miles Levy, Stephanie Levy-Gotthard, Andrew Hiestand and David Hiestand; and her great grandchildren, Aurelia Gotthard and Magnus Gotthard. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
She received the Distinguished Nurse Researcher of 1987 award from the Foundation of the New York State Nurses Association.
