He was predeceased by: his parents, Lambert Knapp and Mary Knapp (Neuman); his wife Ruth Knapp; and his son Michael Knapp. He is survived by: his children, John Knapp, Frank Knapp, Doris Lucia (Jim), Heidi Latanzio (AJ) and Susan Walsh; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Knapp; and his siblings, Peter Knapp (Connie), Elizabeth Teutsch and Mary Thomas (Donald). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
