With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carmella Hillyer of Colonia, New Jersey, born in Newark, New Jersey, who passed away on January 17, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Tedesco and Dorothy Pentimone Tedesco; and her siblings, Theresa, Mary, Felix, Anna, Angie, Dottie and Nick.
She is survived by: her husband William Hillyer; her children, Darlene VanGlahn (John) of Colonia, Linda Fonseca of Woodbridge, William Hillyer (Teresa) of Scotch Plains and Joseph Hillyer (Arlene) of Colonia; her son-in-law Gus Fonseca of Elizabeth; her siblings, Rose Catalon of Clark and Michael Tedesco of Avenel; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Lindsey (Tom), Joey, Justin, Nicole (Andrew), Lauren (Alyssa), Jesse, Rourke and Megan; and her great grandchild Charlotte. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
