He was predeceased by : his parents, Jeanie McKinnon and Malcolm McKinnon; his son Robert Jr.; his brothers-in-law, Frank, Michael, Joseph and Jimmy; and his nephews, Frankie and Erik.

He is survived by : his wife Catherine; his daughters, Elizabeth (Gary) of Iselin and Denise (Tom) of Colonia; his granddaughters, Maranda and Amarisa; his sisters-in-law, Margaret of Scotland, Maureen of Florida and Ellen of Scotland; and his niece Tracey. He is also survived by his nephews, and many friends.
