He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. Gilmer and Edith Gilmer (Adams); his brother Charles F. Gilmer; and his son-in-law David Layton. He is survived by: his children, John D. Gilmer (Barbara), Mark A. Gilmer (Christine F.) and Susan Layton; his grandchildren, Annaliese Layton (Matthew Falco), Erik Layton (Amanda), Emily A. Bonomo (Adam), Jack Gilmer and Cody Gilmer; and his sister-in-law Jean Gilmer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
