He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Dorsett and Delbert Dorsett; his son Gregory Terry Dorsett; his grandchildren, Holly, Hanna, David James III, Mason, Parker and Kensington; his nieces, Collette DeStefano and Jacquline Bohanan; his nephew Douglas Tredenick; and his siblings, Earl Dorsett and Barbara.
He is survived by: his sons, David James Dorsett Jr. (Sandy) and Christopher Terry Dorsett (Sarah); and his friend Maureen O'Brien.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dooley Funeral Home (218 N Ave W, Cranford, NJ 07016). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michael's Church (40 Alden St, Cranford, NJ 07016).
His contributions to the industry were honored with multiple Emmy Awards, a testament to his artistry behind the camera.
