She was predeceased by: her parents, Clinton Russell and Sally Russell; her daughter Artinus Caritha Coates; and her siblings, Rosamae, Eva Mae, Leona, George, Clinton "Clayton" Russell and Robert Sylvester Coates Sr..
She is survived by: her close friend Eugene Dorsey; her son Robert Sylvester Coates Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Essence and Markell.
