She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry B. Newsome Sr. and Gracie L. Newsome (Ricks); her husband Arthur W. Lawrence Sr.; her sons, Bruce E. Lawrence, Donald "Fats" Lawrence and Ronald "Skinny" Lawrence; and her siblings, Barbara Newsome, Christine Everhart, Walter Newsome and Willie Newsome.
She is survived by : her children, Melissa Lawrence and Arthur W. Lawrence Jr. (Junebug); her grandchildren, Taleeya N. Lawrence and Na'Zyia S. Honour; her siblings, Aleen Newsome, Diane Hobbs (Wilfred), Cynthia Newsome Bell, Gracie Taylor (Guy), Dorothy Newsome, Donnie Newsome (Mattie), Jimmy Newsome (Catherine) and Harry Newsome (Eunice); and her grandchildren, Honour, Jessica Dorsey, Alesha M. Hendrickson, Nicole Sylvester, Isaiah M. Lawrence, Ezekiel M. Lawrence, Xavier E. Lawrence and Jacob D. Lawrence (Jada L. Lawrence). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
