We announce the death of Barry Bernard of Dumont, New Jersey, who passed away on July 2, 2026, at the age of 73. Barry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bernard and Claire Sheehan (Sheehan); and his brothers, Donald Bernard and Terrance Bernard. He is survived by: his wife Maria Bernard (Tamburello); his children, Barry Bernard Jr., Joseph Bernard (Eva), Patricia Palardy (Christopher) and Melissa Palkewick (Philip); his siblings, Kevin Bernard and Maryclaire Bernard; and his grandchildren, Alexander Palardy, Addison Palardy, Christina Palardy, Juliet Bernard, Hudson Bernard, Abigail Palkewick, Madelyn Palkewick, Marshall Palardy and Theodore Palkewick.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Mary's Church of Dumont, NJ or The Saint John's Council #1345 Knights of Columbus.
