He was predeceased by: his wife Rosemary A. Basso (Vogel); his parents, Samuel Basso and Mary Basso (Apicella); and his granddaughter Christin. He is survived by: his children, Richard (Patrice) of Naperville, IL, Donald of Laconia, NH, Maryann Sievers of Durham, NC, Diane Stein (David) of Randolph, NJ, Kathleen Schwint (Geoffrey) of Hillsborough, NJ and Audrey DeSimone (John) of Hopkinton, MA.; and his great grandchildren, Eileen, Peter, Margaret, Terrence, Christopher, Sean, Madeline, Jeremy, Jonathan, Leah, Jamie, Alex, Elizabeth, Caroline, Calvin, Haeley, Rory and Callie. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to a charity that benefits US veterans.
