He was predeceased by : his wife Rosetta G. Thompson (Smith); and his children, JoAnn Gloria, Donna Marie Knode, Linda Jean Eagen and John Russell.

He is survived by : his son Barry Russell (Vanessa Thompson); his grandchildren, Nicole Lynn Lagnese (Nikolas) and Courtney Rose Eagen; and his great great grandchildren, Colleen Lagnese and Mason Eagen.
