He is survived by: his mother June Longshore-Rooks; his wife Martha Rooks; his children, Roger Jr., Edward Rooks, Cortney and Martha Rooks; his grandchildren, Charliene and Sincere; his siblings, James Jr., Wayne Rooks (Iris) and Julie Rooks; and his uncle Walter Longshore.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Imani Baptist Church (113 Elmwood Ave, East Orange, NJ 07018).
