William Squire Lindsey Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Squire Lindsey, born on August 26, 1943 in the Bronx, New York, who passed away on April 14, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends.
He was a resident at Leake & Watts Children’s Home where he had many friends and always greeted every one with a big smile. He graduated from Saunders High School in Yonkers, NY with a Electrical Wiring degree and in 1968 was drafted into the United States Army where he served until his honorable discharge in 1975.
He was an apprentice in IBEW LOCAL 3 and worked for Fischbach & Moore for several years. He studied and obtained his MASTER ELECTRICIAN LICENSE with the State of NY and established his own business W.L. SQUIRE ELECTRIC around 1980. Bill helped so many young black men learn the trade and was a leader in the electrical community.
Bill was an avid bowler and loved the game. He was sanctioned through the ABC, USBC and TNBA for over 40 years bowling with the Crown Jewels, Travelers, Just Pals, Bricktown, and many other leagues and loved bowling in annual tournaments. Bill had that 1, 2, 3 slide..... He was an excellent bowler.
He is survived by his daughter Cassandra Lindsey-Williams, son William Lindsey Jr., Granddaughter, Mone Williams, Grandson , Kaden Lindsey, sister Gwenette Lindsey, sister Denise Squire, long time companion Salome Melchor, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
