With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Francis Simonelli of Eatontown, New Jersey, born in Long Branch, New Jersey, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 22, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, James shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid James farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Simonelli and Ann Simonelli. He is survived by: his wife Rosanna Simonelli; and his sister Delphine Kappen.

Memorial donations are requested to the James Simonelli Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Long Branch Board of Education, 540 Broadway Long Branch, NJ 07740.

“Dear Simonelli Family: I knew Sim for many years in several capacities; as a coach, a school administrator and a life guard. He was always a gentleman who exhibited kindness, integrity, and strength. He certainly was a "man's man". He will be missed by all who knew him and will often be mentioned in the annals of Nj Shore Life Guards.
