Murphy C. Ward Sr. Obituary
We announce the death of Murphy C. Ward Sr. of Edgewater Park, New Jersey, who passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 86. Murphy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Ward and Ruby Ward; and his brothers, Lafayette "Jim" and Billy. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Beverly (Bob), Murphy Jr. (Cindy) and Kevin; his grandchildren, Melissa (Phillip), Leigh-Anne (Marissa) and Zachary; his great grandchildren, Emily and Jameson; and his siblings, Rossie, Ben, Alice, Donna and Rickey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Weber Funeral Home (112 Broad St, Riverton, NJ 08077). A memorial service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the B. G. William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund 1530 Wilson Blvd, Suite 550, Arlington, VA 22209.
