Caren Ellen Potoker passed away suddenly on September 17 in Brooklyn, NY. Born on February 26 in 1960 in Canarsie, Brooklyn, Caren grew up in Great Kills, Staten Island. She attended P.S.48 in Concord and I.S.61 in West Brighton. She was a 1978 graduate of Susan Wagner HS and went on to obtain her MBA in Social Work at Columbia University. Besides being an avid reader, Caren was multilingual in English, French and Spanish. She was the loving daughter of Max and the late Marilyn Potoker, sister of Aimee Fahey (John) and proud Aunt of JJ. Caren was born with Juvenile Arthritis but never let her mobility constraints affect her high spiritedness or living a full and independent life.
