She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph DeMaio and Rose DeMaio (Zega); her siblings, Jerry DeMaio, Patsey DeMaio, Joe DeMaio and Norma Barrett; and her friend Carol Freeman.
She is survived by: her husband James Mellas; her daughter Christine Seeman; her sons-in-law, Joseph Seeman of Rumson, NJ, James Mellas of Matawan, NJ and Gary Mellas (Beth) of Roanoke, VA; and her grandchildren, Kristy Seeman, Brittani Seeman, Nikki Seeman, Courtney Seeman, Joseph Seeman, Zachary Mellas, Anthony Mellas, Alena Mellas, Jennifer Mellas, Sarah Mellas, Rebecca Mellas, Elisha Mellas, Daniel Mellas, Ethan Mellas and Elizabeth Mellas. She is also survived by her 14 great grandchildren; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mitruska Funeral Home (23 Ford Ave, Fords, NJ 08863). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of Peace RC Church (620 Amboy Ave, Edison, NJ 08837).
