It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy A. Ashton (Edison, New Jersey), who passed away on March 19, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dorothy A. Ashton to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Dowling and Anastasia Doyle of County Kilkenny, Ireland.; her siblings, Catherine, Thomas and Edward; her husband William F. Ashton; her son Brian; her granddaughters, Kathleen and Caitlin Kilijanski; and her sister Hannah Dowling.

She is survived by: her children, Alice, Maureen Ashton-Schwartz (Michael), Elaine Kilijanski (Phillip), Dorothy Montedonico (Russell), Jane Matarangolo (Joseph), Irene Furbeck (Howard), Kathleen Leonard (Peter), Barbara Bythell (Andrew), Bill Ashton, Edward Ashton (Cathy Mizak) and Kevin Ashton. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Matthews School, 100 Seymour Avenue, Edison, NJ, 08817.

We have spent some road trips talking (nonstop), and over the years I've heard stories of her childhood and young years, often starring her Mom. Besides this, at Maureen & Mike's wedding I met the whole family including Dot, who was so obviously loved and admired by you all that you could feel it. You were so lucky to have her, and she you.
