She was predeceased by: her parent Clarence L. Baker; her husband Ned Benjamin Hicks; her daughter Donna Jean Hicks; her granddaughter Nia Mu'Min; and her brothers, Clarence Baker and Leroy Baker (Susan Baker).
She is survived by: her son Lateef Mu'Min; her granddaughters, Aleta Eubanks (Duane Eubanks), Asya Mu'Min and Kameelah Mu'Min; her friends, Albertha and Paul Ingram; her pets, Kittywee of Lee Morgan, BB and Tangerine; Frances Wright (Mark Mitchner). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the McCriskin Gustafson Home For Funerals (2425 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080).
