He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Shirley and Sadie Shirley; his brother Nelson J. Shirley; and his grandson Joseph Tomaszewski. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Nancy Shirley; his sons, Russell Shirley (Wanda Shirley) of East Brunswick and Kenneth Shirley of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Dan Shirley (Lauren), Matthew Shirley (Cassidy) and Ryan Shirley; and his great grandchild Teagan Shirley.
