He was predeceased by: his siblings, Florence, Josephine, Rose and Frank; his granddaughter Christina Marie; and his son-in-law Chris Ruhnke.

He is survived by: his wife Frances Ascolese of Monroe Twp; his children, Grace Ascolese of Arlington, VA, Sal Ascolese, Jr. (Barbara) of Edison and Tina Marie Ascolese-Ruhnke of South Plainfield; and his grandchildren, Sam and Angela. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
