He was predeceased by : his parents, William Auer and Mary Auer; and his sister Sue-Ann Shields. He is survived by : his daughter Heather Cestaro (Chris); and his grandsons, Zachary and Reid.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Boylan Funeral Home (10 Wooding Ave, Edison, NJ 08817). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Hillside Cemetery (1401 Woodland Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076).
