He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Winstead, Sr. and Vincie Winstead,; his siblings, Edward, Richard, Jonathan, Keith Winstead, Lorraine Winstead and Francine Johnson; and his daughters, Angelique "Angel" Winstead and Karen Houston.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Gilbert-Winstead; his children, Lamarr Winstead, Anthony Morgan, Nicole Callaway, Rose Jackson, Diane Watson and Cheryl Bridgeport (Kenneth); and his sister Clara Brown. He is also survived by many grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM and on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 4:00 PM. Visitation was held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Union Baptist Temple (335 N Pennsylvania Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401).
