He was predeceased by: his father Henrique Pereira De Matos; and his brother Manuel Correia Matos. He is survived by: his wife Olga Matos; his children, Ana Paula Matos, Jessica DeNike and Jonathan Matos; his mother Encarnacao De Matos of Portugal; his grandchildren, Kylie Nazario, Kingston Nazario, Peyton DeNike and William DeNike; and his siblings, Rosa Caldas, Clarinda Almeida, Jose Matos, Luis Matos, Maria Singh, Christina Fernandes and Carlos Matos.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home (139 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07208). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima RC Church (403 Spring St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201).
