He was predeceased by: his parents, Duarte Luis and Alzira of Jesus. He is survived by: his spouse Marciana; his children, Maria Helena Castainca (Jose Manuel Castainca) and Jose Carlos Sousa; his grandchildren, Alexandra Castainca-Costa (Jose), Nuno Castainca (Melissa Castainca), Carisa Sousa and Christian Sousa (Cinthia Sousa); Gabriel, Lucas, Tomás Costa, William and Conrad Castainca.
