He is survived by : his wife Irene Tavares Esteves; his children, Bruno Alexandre Esteves of Portugal and Bruna Alexandra Esteves of Elizabeth; and his siblings, Fernando Esteves, Joao P. Esteves, Mario Esteves, Dulce Esteves Figueiras, Luzia Araujo Esteves and Irene Duarte.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home (139 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07208). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 8:30 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima R. C. Church (403 Spring St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201).
