He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Douglas Samuel Nelson and Imogene Martin Nelson; his wife Wilma Jean Elliott; his children, Stephanie Geneva Davis (Akil) and Douglas Lucas Nelson (Gerard); his goddaughter Marsha Darbouze Woodard; his daughter Marsha (Mo); his grandchildren, Jaedon, Kaia, Langston, Jackson, Asher, Lennox and Maxwell; and his sisters, Tia Nia Nelson and Jill Ardley (Dennis). He was also cherished by wife, children, and 7 grandchildren.
He spearheaded the Media Ministry and insured that First Baptist was prepared to pivot quickly to online service during Covid.
