He was predeceased by: his parents, James Adolphus Johnson and Ora Beasley-Johnson; and his siblings, Doris Willis, Gloria Porter, Mitchell Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Francis Johnson, James Johnson, Donald Johnson of John and Winston Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Eula Johnson; his daughters, Sherri Johnson-Stevens, Teresa Johnson-Albritton and Michelle Johnson-Davidson; his sons-in-law, Patrick Stevens, Mel Albritton and Douglas Davidson; and his grandchildren, Davon Johnson, Derek Stevens, Sierra Albritton, Raymond Davidson and Aaron Stevens. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
