She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Miick and Filomena Miick (Tedeschi). She is survived by: her husband Thomas P. Cusick; her children, Nicole Kenny (Chris) of Shrewsbury, NJ and Sean Cusick (Julianne) of Leesburg, VA.; her siblings, Catherine Schwarzenbek (Eugene) of Westfield, NJ, Jeffrey Miick (Brita) of Turks, Caicos, Denise Adams (Perry Brownstein) of Davie, FL and Deborah Chin (Richie) of Davie, FL.; her in-laws, Kathleen Pickler (Charles) of Belford, NJ, Kevin Cusick (Marilyn) of Neptune, NJ, Laurie Garrido (Don) of Wall, NJ and Colleen Sehulster (William) of Fair Haven, NJ.; and her grandchildren, Graham, Luke, Kyle Kenny, Blake and Leah Cusick.
Valerie's love of teaching was rekindled during Covid, guiding her grandchildren while they were learning remotely.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Valerie's memory to Lunch Break in Red Bank.
