He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Houten and John Van Houten of George's Grammar School; his wife Lois Klapmust of Clifton; his brother Jack; and his son Robert.
He is survived by: his children, Denis, Susan Ralston (Ronald) and Nancy Radcliffe (Scott); his grandchildren, Robert, Kenneth (Lynn), Scott (Jessica), Kathryn (Brian), Denis (Kirstin) and Kristen; and his great grandchildren, Kenneth, Landon, Levi, Peyton and Brinley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
