He was predeceased by: his siblings, Frank McGovern, Janet Turso and Barbara Candeloro. He is survived by: his wife JoAnne McGovern (DeStefano); his daughters, Michelle Nappi (John), Jennifer Alonzo and Janet Candiano (Marco); his grandchildren, Tyler, Jake and Isabella; and his brothers, Walter and Joseph McGovern.

In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of Thomas may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
