It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gerald S. Waller of Fairfield, New Jersey, who passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven Waller and Mary Waller (Gaspar); and his brother Kenneth Waller. He is survived by: his wife Susan Waller (Potusky); his brother Richard Waller (Elaine) of Basking Ridge; his siblings-in-law, Pam and Ken Erkfitz; his nieces, Susan Jo Lamb (Craig), Gayle Burlinson (Ryan), Kristin DeCellio (Christopher) and Alexandra Strom (Daryl); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Emily, Alex, Sarah Lamb, Sophie, Hana Burlinson, Matthew and Ryan DeCellio.

“Jerry was my mentor as a new teacher at CHS in 1987. He was one of the first teachers to teach Excel and WordPerfect. He was a genius in the field. He taught me the ropes. He loved his students and they loved him too. He didn’t just teach he inspired. You could find Jerry in N214 early before school and many hours after school closed. He practically lived there! He was a wonderful guy and amazing teacher.”

He was well regarded as one of the best teachers in the building, very well respected by students, staff and administrators. When I worked at Clifton High School I had the chance to reconnect when he and his wife when they awarded scholarships to some of our students. I was very saddened to hear about his passing. He was a great man.”
