He is survived by: his children, Stephen Umstead (Tracy) and Heather Umstead; his grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Evan and Alexis Umstead; his brother James Umstead (Teresa); his nieces and nephews, Justin, Ashley and Miriam (late Lawrence); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Candy, Larry, Michael and Kelly; his niece Marsha (late Kenneth); his great-nieces, Kristen and Kendra; his niece Tricia (late Kenneth); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Tracy and Trudy; his extended family Dolores; his niece Dina Fanelle (Ed); and his great-nephews, Nicholas and Brandon.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made, in his memory, to a charity of the donor's choice.
