He is survived by: his son John R. Matis; and his nieces and nephews, Paula Coccia-Nevil and Thomas Mattaliano.
A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church (191 Norman Ave, Roebling, NJ 08554). The inurnment was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Cemetery (191 Norman Ave, Roebling, NJ 08554).
