He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Schmitt and Eileen Schmitt; his sister Deborah Theis; and his close friend Joseph Bonardi. He is survived by: his grandson Nikolas; his close friend Dale; his son-in-law Tommy; his brother-in-law Joey (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Tommy and Brooke; his wife Florence Schmitt; his children, Paul Schmitt Jr. (Deidre), Florence Fazio (Bo) and Pamela Irvolino (Thomas); his siblings, Peter (Wendy), Matty, Mark, Andrew Schmitt (Marissa) and Christine (Bobby Allen); his grandchildren, Aiden, Mason, Jaxon and Little T; and his brother-in-law Joseph DeVito (Cheryl). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, Paul's family kindly requests that those wishing to honor his memory continue his legacy of generosity by donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org), or by planting a tree in their yard in his honor—just as Paul once did for his beloved mother.
