It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Sterling (Franklin Lakes, New Jersey), who passed away on May 4, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact John had on those he encountered along his journey. Though John may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Sloss and Gladys Sloss (Chodorov); his stepmother Kathleen Boland Sloss; his sister Jane; and his grandmother Gertrude Schindel.
He is survived by: his children, Abigail (Ethan), Veronica, Bradford (Maria) and Derek; and his former wife Jennifer Contreras-Goldstein (Neil). He is also survived by friends, family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to either Broadway Bridges, Pitch In for Baseball and Softball, or the New York Public Library.
