He was predeceased by: his son Seth Newton; and his brother Herbie Newton. He is survived by: his wife Debra; his daughter Sarah Newton; his stepchildren, Sean Barrett and Kristen Barrett; and his siblings, Carol Robb and Doug Newton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA).
